After Dark is a movie and TV journal operated by Robert Rodriguez. This notice explains how the app handles your information and how to contact us about it.
Your account
When you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your account identifier, email address, and basic profile information with our authentication service, Supabase. After Dark uses your verified identity to sign you in, display your account email, and connect you to your collection. It does not receive your Google password or request access to your Gmail, Drive, or contacts.
If you use the existing ChatGPT login, After Dark receives the account identity provided by that sign-in service. Linking a new login to an existing collection requires you to sign in to both accounts and choose to connect them.
Your journal
We store the shows and episodes you add, your watchlist and favorites, episode progress, watch dates, ratings, and notes. These records are associated with your account and are not shown to other users. The app operator and service providers may process them when needed to operate, support, and secure the app.
Discover
Discover is a public catalog curated by Robert. Published entries contain title details such as artwork, descriptions, genres, and season information. Curator watch logs, ratings, notes, favorites, and progress are not published. When you add a Discover title, it becomes part of your own collection; other visitors cannot see your personal journal. Later catalog additions are optional, and unpublishing a catalog entry does not remove copies people already added.
Services that help the app work
Supabase handles Google authentication and sessions. OpenAI Sites and its hosting infrastructure, including Cloudflare, serve the app and store journal records. These services may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to provide and secure the service.
When you search for a title or check streaming availability, After Dark sends the search text, title identifiers, and selected country to TMDB. It does not send your account email, ratings, or journal notes to TMDB. Images load from TMDB’s image service, which receives the network information needed to deliver them. Streaming links open external services with their own privacy practices.
We use Google account information for sign-in and account support, not advertising, sale, or unrelated profiling. After Dark’s use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements where applicable.
Cookies and preferences
Sign-in uses cookies to keep your session active and complete authentication securely. Your appearance choice and streaming country are saved in this browser. Clearing browser data may sign you out or reset these preferences; it does not delete your stored journal.
Keeping and removing your data
Account and journal records are kept so you can return to your collection. You can edit or delete watch logs in the app. Removing a show or episode from your collection can retain its history and progress so it can be restored.
To request a copy of your information or deletion of your account and associated journal records, email hello@robertrodriguezmusic.com. We may ask you to verify ownership before acting. Provider backups and security logs may remain for the provider’s retention period. Disconnecting After Dark in your Google account stops that connection but does not itself delete your journal.
Contact and changes
For privacy questions, contact hello@robertrodriguezmusic.com. If the app’s data practices change, we will update this notice and its date, and request consent when required before using information in a new way.
